The Global Orphan Crisis

The average orphan spends about ten years in an orphanage or foster care. And those are the lucky ones. Others spend their lives abandoned with no one to care for them. Many end up as child-slaves. Whether in orphanages or abandoned, many orphans are exploited, abused, hungry and lonely. This is the plight of orphans in today’s world. And it cannot be ignored.

The Global Orphan Crisis, be the solution—change your world by Diane Lynn Elliot (Moody Publishers) divulges the atrocious dilemma that hundreds of thousands of children find themselves in—simply because they don’t have parents.

Harvest Crusade 2013

Harvest Crusade 2013 kicked off yesterday at Angel Stadium in Anaheim and was a huge success. Reportedly, hundreds of people gave their hearts to Christ for the first time, and others who'd already done this before, rededicated their lives. But that's not all. Harvest Crusade continues tonight -- and you can watch it in multiple locations or online.

Not Today, India's dark secret & Orphans First

Every day, thousands of children are sold into slavery because their parents are so poor, they cannot feed them. Every day, innocent children are made into prostitutes with no choice of their own. They have no choice. But we have a choice -- to help them or just bury our heads in the sand and pretend they don't exist.

Orphans First provides homes, education, Christian love and much more to vulnerable, impoverished children who might otherwise find themselves exploited and taken into slavery. We have 3 homes in India -- homes filled with laughter -- homes where the children are well-fed and healthy.

Not Today is a movie (just released in DVD) which tells the story of a young man, Caden, who finds himself caught face-to-face with the plight of India's Dalit children. It is the story of Annika, sold by her father. And it is (inadvertently) the story of what our children at Orphans First have been rescued from.
