Forgive Your Parents -- Let Go

Yep. You heard right. Get over it. But how?

Everyone struggles with areas of bitterness and unforgiveness (don't they?). But bitterness to parents is the worst--especially if there's just cause to be bitter.

Forgiving Our Fathers and Mothers by Leslie Leyland Fields (Thomas Nelson, January 2014) brings a refreshing stance to this all-important matter of forgiving our parents--no matter how badly they may have wounded us.

Help California’s Orphans & Troubled Youth.

1,000 children and youth in California will face another sad day without parents, feeling as if they don’t belong to anyone. Some 1, 000 adoptable children in California’s foster system still wait (and hope) to be adopted and become part of a forever family—to belong permanently to a family who will love them.

Compared to California’s immense population, this number doesn’t sound like much. But given that there are more than 20, 000 churches in California—including many mega churches—the statistic is alarming. God’s people are called to care for orphans. Not that all are called to adopt or become foster parents but, to quote the Sleep Train motto, “Not everyone can be a foster parent, but anyone can help a foster child."

There are many ways to help local orphans and youth. This coming Saturday, September 14th, there are 2 different free conferences in Southern California that show the many ways you can be involved. Find out details and read the full story in The San Diego Christian Perspectives Examiner. And in Assist News Service

Hope you can attend one of these conferences.
