Beyond Heaven's Door

If you you are a believer with questions about Heaven, then Max Lucado’s latest book, Beyond Heaven's Door published by Thomas Nelson might be just the thing for you.

In his distinctive warm narrative, Lucado provides simple, life illustrations and Scripture to show what Heaven is about.  He draws from key passages such as Matthew 22, Luke 15, the first few chapters of Revelation…and explains what they mean to the Christian. (Note my emphasis “to the Christian.” Beyond Heaven's Door is not really an evangelistic tool because of both content and light Christianize.)

Mother India, Life Through The Eyes of an Orphan comes out in DVD tomorrow, April 23rd and is well worth seeing. The film tells the story of 25 abandoned, homeless children -- orphans -- living on the cut-throat streets of India. This is their story of survival. It is a sad story -- all the more sad because these children's story is shared by 31 million orphans in India. But there is hope.

The film, Mother India, encourages viewers to make a difference and partner with ministries working with orphans in India. Orphans First is one such ministry and has 3 children's homes in India. The pictures above , with the exception of the picture of the movie's cover, are of children in Grace Home & Covenant Home -- 2 Orphans First children's homes.

Find out more about Orphans First here. Find out more about Mother India, the movie by reading my full review in The San Diego Christian Perspectives Examiner -- and in Assist News Service.

One Perfect Life, the Complete Story of the Lord Jesus

One Perfect Life, The Complete Story of the Lord Jesus by John MacArthur (published by Thomas Nelson) is a remarkable tool for anyone wanting to know more about Jesus.

One Perfect Life provides the story of Jesus based mostly on the Gospel of Matthew, but also drawn from the three other Gospels and other Bible Scriptures that paint a clear portrait of Jesus. Rather than flip through various Bible reference books to find out how the Scriptures weave together to depict Christ, MacArthur has done the work for us and laid it out in a comprehensive, easy-read manner.

Outstanding features of One Perfect Life include:
  • Extensive yet simple notes unpacking every verse contextually on every page.
  • The seamless story of Jesus through a compilation of Scripture in an easy-read order (using the New King James Version of the Bible).
  • A conglomeration of the Gospels—though mostly based on Matthew—and their connection to other Bible Scriptures pointing to Jesus.
One Perfect Life is another masterpiece of renowned pastor and Bible teacher, John MacArthur. A masterpiece designed to draw its readers into a closer relationship with the Master, Jesus.
