Eternity, a new graphic novel by Randy Alcorn

With all that's going on in the world right now (crazy, right?), the subject of eternity is perpetually on my mind. And many people are of the same mind. That's why Eternity by Randy Alcorn makes a great read (or should I say it's fun to look at and read since it's a graphic novel?).

With all that's going on in the world right now (crazy, right?), the subject of eternity is perpetually on my mind. And many people are of the same mind. That's why Eternity by Randy Alcorn makes a great read (or should I say it’s fun to look at and read since it's a graphic novel?).

Eternity written by New York Times bestseller, Randy Alcorn, is a colorful graphic novel produced by Kingstone Comics.

The story draws from different Bible characters and weaves in diverse sections of the Bible to deliver the message of eternity: Everyone will go somewhere when they die. Alcorn explains Paradise and the resurrection (the bodily resurrection of believers). It highlights the believers entrance into Heaven and angelic warfare as it plays out in a battle aimed at thwarting God’s plan for His people – and so on.

The artwork in Eternity is highly colorful and tastefully done, albeit in comic-strip style. Jesus, refreshingly, is portrayed as an ordinary Hebrew man, rather than the weak wimpy image given in so many books (although it looks as if his eyes are lighter than a mid-easterner would typically have).

The book is printed on high quality, semi-glossy paper, making it durable so that it can be easily read and passed on to others. (Hey, who knows how many people might stumble upon this book after the Rapture! Imagine the salubrious repercussions that would bring.)

Eternity can be used as an evangelistic tool as well as a simple study of what eternity means. It’s an easy and fun read with a sobering message. Works well for older children, teens and adults and would make a marvelous gift.

Eternity is the latest publication of a series of similar graphic books. It can be found in bookstores everywhere and also at Kindstonecomics.com.

A Bride For All Seasons -- a fun read

A delightful bundle of four light-hearted, redemption-filled novellas written by four different authors best describes A Bride for All Seasons from The Mail Order Bride Collection published by Thomas Nelson.
Each story represents a different season in 1870—a time when brides or husbands were hard to come by in many states. Each novella features its own unique characters and matrimonial prospects ordered by desperate bachelors from the Hitching Post Mail-Order Bride Catalogue. But sometimes you don’t get exactly what you ordered.
The hopeful spouses all come with their own set-of-baggage and expectations – all of which lead to an amusing and entertaining narrative. The first novella is particularly moving since a key character is a troubled orphan boy. His story is woven into the narrative and ends with its own happy-ever-after.
A Bride For All Seasons affords light reading with a biblical message. A perfect summer read.
The charming tales included in A Bride For All Seasons are as follows:
“And then Came Spring" by Margaret Brownley
"An Ever After Summer" by Debra Clopton
"Autumn's Angel" by Robin Lee Hatcher
"Winter Wedding Bells" by Mary Connealy

If you liked The Loved Dare -- the 40-day-challenge that went along with the Fireproof film -- then you're gonna love The Love Dare For Parents--especially if you are one (a parent, that is).

The Love Dare For Parents invites parents to draw nearer to God, look into their own shortcomings in light of God’s Word, and learn to point their children to Jesus through their own lives. (Certain similarities to my own book, Heaven Help Me Raise These Children! -- but since that's now out of print...).

Read my full review of this book in The San Diego Christian Perspectives Examiner and in Assist News Service.

And, as we near Father's Day, let's not forget the many fatherless children in this world. Many of them are right in our corners of the world. Let's pray for them and reach out to them. For more info on how to help orphans, check out Orphans First
